Bio Moment – Is it about wine… or cats?

In the interest of those of you who clicked on this post because of wine or cats…

Also in the interest of those mentioned, I can’t drink more than a glass of wine – and really shouldn’t drink any – because of medication I take. This is a sad state of affairs as I would love to learn (and drink) more. I live in wine country and I mean, most folks around here take their wine… pret-ty seriously.

And yes, I also adore cats, which you may have realized if you’ve read much of my writing. For fun, I put the word “cats” in the search box on my main page. A list of posts where I mentioned cats (or they were the subject of the posts) may be found HERE. You’re welcome. 🙂

The bottles have a story all their own, too. I first saw a collection at a young friend’s house. She has about twenty, I’d say. I loved all the colors and the fact that yeah, they’re cats. I collect all different kinds of cats and knew I needed to find some, pronto. Easier said, than done, as they aren’t around all year and really, you’d be more likely to find them in a thrift store than a liquor store. Not that I found any in either place.

That’s when synchronicity kicked in – I love synchronicity! See, my brother and sister-in-law inherited an extensive collection of cats (real and inanimate – long story). They asked if I’d be interested in seeing the collection. Seriously? You have to ask? And, OMG, they wanted me to take a few off their hands. Really now, how fast can I get there? Three of these bottles were among the collection – greenish-gold, blue and white. I was tickled beyond reason. Then, a friend saw the photo I posted on Facebook (where I asked if anyone sees one, let me know!) and said she had a red one for me. Woo Hoo! So, now I have four that sit like sentinels in my kitchen.

Now where was I? Oh, yes. Ahem.

This post is actually about neither wine, nor cats. It’s about tribe. Are you in mine?

Google tells me: A tribe is viewed, developmentally or historically, as a social group existing outside of or before the development of states.

That’s a little heavy-handed for what I had in mind. Here’s what I am wondering…

Are you like me? And by that I mean… on the inside.

Do you want peace and joy to be the hallmark of your life? Do you want to be a help to people, not a hindrance? Do you want to give and receive graciously? Do you want to spread beauty, not manure? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of the people you love… and the world?

Are you like me?

That’s what I want to know.
