Easy like Sunday – Day Trippin’

It was actually Saturday. Yesterday. We’d decided to take a drive … well, actually … we decided to take a trip to Dairy Queen first, where we enjoyed an Oh Henry/ peanut butter Blizzard. Um. Yummy! 😋

Then to drive!!

We went a way we don’t normally go which of course means we ended up in places we don’t normally see!

It was a perfect early evening! Windows were down and the air outside was that perfect temperature… even in a sleeveless top!

I saw something in the distance… like huge mechanical sentries. I recognized them as windmills -the biggest I’ve ever seen!

They were HUGE! They scared and thrilled me. Yeah, I’m weird like that.

When I was a kid, we’d drive to the beaches of California on back roads. We’d pass airplane hangers and I’d get that same scary/ thrilling feeling. I have no idea where it originated but oversized things like this get me every time. But I digress.

My husband then surprised me with a little side trip as the late afternoon sun was getting ready to settle in for the night.

It is a place I’d never been… even though it is less than a mile from where he (and I used to) work. I had NO IDEA it existed!

Look at this beautiful mill and property!

I’m told we must return in the fall for the colors! You can bet your hiney, we will!!!

We are so blessed to live in the Niagara region. It is rich in heritage and natural beauty.

Do you have places like this where you live?

I encourage you to find them!

In the world of self-help, little day trips cannot be stressed enough!!

Today is Sunday and my day began with a delicious breakfast in bed. Yeah, he’s mine! You can’t have him!

What will the rest of the day bring? I can’t wait to find out!
