Healing Magic – An inside job

Are you afraid of words like “Witch,” “Herbal,” and “Chant”? Do the phrases “Conscious Living” and “Mother Earth” make you want to run in the opposite direction?

Then listen up, my friend, because I’ve got something special for YOU!

Robin Rose Bennett‘s Healing Magic is absolutely, positively a MUST READ for searchers, healers and those who ache for magic and enlightenment.

But it’s also a book for skeptics who wonder… who have an open mind… and I assume you all do or you wouldn’t be here reading my stuff… because… wow… I go all over the place! 🙂

This year, I’m delving deeper into the word HEALING … and I want CLARITY.

To be clear (that’s a pun, folks) … by “healing” I mean in every conceivable way! NOTHING is off-limits or off-topic as we take a deep dive into what it means to be a healthy and strong human in a world that needs us more than ever!

Bennett is a “Green Witch” and you may be asking yourself what that means. I know I did! According to Bennet’s website, “The plants are the most generous of beings – teachers, healers, and friends. Let me teach you to listen to them, to appreciate and use them well. So, in short (as stated on page 3 of this book) a Green Witch is someone who has a special love for the plants and trees of the earth and are often gifted in working with them as gardeners, herbalists, artists, and teachers. 

Beautiful… yes? I think so! If that’s what a Green Witch is… sign me up!

My Christian friends may ask how I can say that, as a believer? Let me answer and then… I am not saying it again. I may refer back to this… as it will be the FINAL word.

In my world, God is the giver of EVERYthing… including talents, gifts, earth magic, healing paths, sacred senses, intuition, witches, healers, psychics… and my very favorite word of all: grace… oh yes, especially grace…

EVERYTHING. Even things that some might call “New Age” (and not in a nice way) and “Spiritual” (also not in a nice way).

Literally, if I haven’t made it crystal clear, God is the mastermind of EVERYTHING.

So, that takes care of that.

Back to the book, which is so neat! It may look like a pretty book on the outside but the inside is PACKED with mystery, feminism, the medicine wheel, herbs, spells, prayers, rituals, and personal stories.

In doing my research, I found that reviews went from “Powerful” and “Fantastic” to “Lacks understanding” and worse, with the words “woo woo” included.

Look, I know that some of what I’ll be talking about with regard to healing will seem… out there… but for many people (me, included!) the journey has been a looong one and has involved a trillion, bazillion trials of therapies, traditional medicine, and prescription medications.

Frankly, at my age, I’m sick of being sick. I’m sick of taking 12 pills a day.

I’m sick of migraines and asthma… and I’m told they are both very tied to emotional trauma and stress.

I’m sick of being depressed and anxious and led around by my emotions.

I’m sick of being fat (same deal as above) – and Lord knows that if it were as easy as eating less and moving, I’d be a stick. In my lifetime, I’ve gone for months eating one meal a day, or next to nothing at all, or three full meals and tons of desserts, exercising, running, dancing and sitting on my ass…  and all I can say is that I go up and down the same thirty pounds or so, which is like… 80 more pounds than I should weigh. I can’t blame the baby weight I gained 35 years ago… I mean, duh… but gotta say, I’ve never gone below about 170 pounds since then. For real. The struggle is real.

No, I have a inside job to do here… and I’m ready to do it.

This book will be just one of my own personal “Bibles” as I walk the path. I’ll be sharing some others, of course.

And don’t be fooled… I’m also going to pray – to God.
