Butterflies and Transformation

I have been told by two important people in my life that I remind them of a butterfly. It could be because both of them read this blog and I did draw myself as a butterfly once. Remember?

Still, they say it’s true… and the more I think about it, the more it rings true to me, too. I mean – duh! – I drew myself AS a butterfly.

I’ve always loved butterflies! Who doesn’t? I mean, can you imagine someone saying, “I hate butterflies!”? Me neither. But I guess it’s possible. And yes, I digress. *ahem*

Springtime always makes us think of butterflies… and I’ve seen a few already! I always stop and talk to them!

Also, here’s something wild. Talk about synchronicity! I just talked about butterflies the other day in a post!

The little buggers are speaking to me, for sure!

My friend, one of the people mentioned above, sent me a whole gift package of butterfly pretties, like this beautiful grouping in metal and porcelain that I have hanging with my vision board. When I turn on the tiny lights, they look magical.

My mom is the other, and she loves the transformation, which, as you know, is very important to me too… especially right now, while I’m working on getting myself healthy.

Another neat thing happened when I went to pick up a worry stone for my hubby at my fave metaphysical store. (By the way, true story, he lost the other one I gave him, which I have had for over 20 years and carried from California to Canada. Ha! We’re not exactly sure what happened but I figured it was time to get one all his own anyway. I also bought one for myself!) If you haven’t seen them, they’re a flat oval crystal with a thumb-sized imprint that you rub when you’re worried or upset. Here’s a link with photos.

So yeah, I was planning to spend $10 or so and ended up seeing these beauties and couldn’t resist. When I got home from a morning filled with errands, I pulled one for today. Here’s what I got:

I had asked, “Should I change my logo?”. See, It’s about time to renew my current one and it wasn’t what I would call inexpensive, nor was it 100% exclusive, which I didn’t appreciate either.

So, the card is telling me to be my unique self… which translates to this blog, as well.

As a reminder, my logo history has gone like this:.

I originally had the logo on the left, which I created myself and have talked about recently because it was Dad’s favorite. Then came the freebie in the middle, found online. Next, the one I paid for, also found online.

Because I’m now on a MAC, I have some programs I didn’t have before and I’m wondering if I can create something myself that is *exactly* what I want. I put this together earlier today (mostly with pen and ink). I’m not totally on board with it yet but I like where its going. I want leaves to denote the trees and the butterfly, too. Too busy? What do you think?

Oh, and what the card I pulled reminded me is that I’m one-of-a-kind and my website needs a one-of-a-kind logo to go with it!! So, that’s what I’ll be working on!

Let’s just finish this post off with some neat stuff about butterflies you may or may not know:

Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life. Butterflies are not only beautiful, but also have mystery, symbolism and meaning and are a metaphor representing spiritual rebirth, transformation, change, hope and life. The magnificent, yet short life of the butterfly closely mirrors the process of spiritual transformation and serves to remind us that life is short.” Link
