Easy Like Sunday – Tomorrow

I asked, “What guidance is most helpful for me to receive now?”

My answer was in the Butterfly Affirmation cards that I shuffled and spread.

I held my hands flat above them, both hands at first, as I meditated on the question. I noticed that my ring finger on my left hand and the palm of my right hand felt warmer. I made a mental note as I concentrated on where I was feeling the most heat, which is always an indication to pay attention. Eventually, I was left with a small pile of cards under my right hand, which I spread. Then, I chose the one that felt right.

The featured photo is the butterfly illustration, different for each card. The message on the card is shown here >>>

Ah, CONTROL. Looks like I don’t need you right now, old nemesis! I can let go and let my God take over.

Nice. Because I have some things going on right now…

I’m starting a new job tomorrow. I’m excited about it… but also a little nervous, mostly about getting up at 6:30 am, which is an hour best used to pee and climb back into a warm bed, especially as the weather grows colder. Don’t you agree? Maybe not, if you’re a morning person. I am NOT.

Training is from 8am – 4pm for four weeks. Wish me luck! I’ll need it just to get out of bed!

And just to tell you how this ADHD mind works, I’m now gonna throw a big ol’ Christian wrench into this post.

When you read the title of my post, you might have thought, “The sun will come out, tomorrow,” from Annie. <<< (Link to listen)

For me, it’s another song called, “Tomorrow”. You see, folks, my Christian life wasn’t all bad. In fact, I have many fond memories. One such memory is of my long-ago friend Angel, who sang like an angel, singing this song in the early 1990s.

This is the version (played on Christian radio at the time) by The Winans. If you’d prefer to skip it, just go below the video, where I continue my post. In the meantime, I’m gonna listen… because this song moves my soul.

I’m still on ye olde Health Journey and have dropped another couple of pounds but it’s going down way slower than it did when I was walking every day. Hopefully, the extra movement of the job will help, though, in truth, a lot of it is sitting-work.

The calorie-counting is helpful, much more so for my husband who has lost 35 pounds this year. For me, as I knew it would, 1,500 calories a day (as low as the app wants me to go) is a way to maintain, not lose. I practically need to starve myself to lose weight, thanks to lifelong dieting. Although, I need to remember that I *have* lost a bit, so let’s just call it incredibly slow-moving.

I have to put all that on the back burner right now, though… not out of sight, just set aside… and concentrate on the job. Later, in a month or so… or maybe the new year, given that we have the upcoming holiday season. Let’s get real, I’ll be lucky to get through unscathed (i.e. gain weight). But I’m gonna try!

But back to the job… I’m totally stoked to get some mad money coming back in the house. I need to travel to see my people, now that we kinda-can. There are still some issues but it’s getting better every day! I get two weeks’ vacation but not sure when it kicks in. Hopefully, I don’t have to wait a year. Wishful thinking, I know!

To close today, I’d like to share that because the butterfly cards are just short, beautiful affirmations, I also shuffled my fave deck, the Romany Fortunes. I asked the same question, “What guidance is most helpful for me to receive now?”

Ah, lilies, indicators of long life, high standards, balancing the spiritual and material in life, and yes, rebirth. A new job certainly sounds about right… and once again, I’m reminded to look to my higher power.

This job is gonna be okay! I’M gonna be okay!

A final note: You might wonder how I fit cards and prayers and affirmations and miracles and …and… and… innumerable thoughts and beliefs into my soul? All I can say is that my Creator made me big enough to hold it all. My guess is that I am not alone in this. And, it’s one of the things I love best about being alive. Thank you, God, for all that You give! I receive it gratefully… and I hope… gracefully.
